One of my most favorite shows, Orange Is The New Black, is back on Netflix tomorrow and in honor of reuniting with Piper, Taystee, Crazy Eyes and the rest of the Litchfield inmates I put together an orange Paleo feast for your binging pleasure. You may feel guilty about watching 13 straight hours of TV on the interwebs, but you won’t feel any regret from these snacks.

Why Paleo? It’s how I’ve been eating these last few weeks as part of a new experiment with my rheumatoid arthritis… more on that coming soon. Now to the recipes!

First, preheat the oven for some baked sweet potato fries.

When you flip them halfway through (after about 20 minutes), toss the carrots in to roast and get your yogurt dip ready.

Last but not least cut up some more carrots, some mango and juice some lemons for a delicious mango carrot lemonade.

Once you’re done eating, break out the nail polish for an on-theme mani. No party is complete without one. Here are 5 OITNB-tastic picks:

  • Chanel: LA Sunset
  • Chanel: Orange Fizz
  • Givenchy: Mandarine Bolero
  • Essie: Roarrrrange
  • Nars: Ethno Run Left

Happy binging! (And please, no spoilers.)

I wanted to keep it healthy, keep it Paleo and (of course) keep it orange so I went with a mango carrot lemonade. (If you wanna kick it up a notch — and who am I to judge? — add some vodka, tequila or even rum to this mix.) It’s sweet without being too tart and perfect to make for the person in your life who would never drink carrot juice (like my intern Jessica who’s holding the glass in the shot above), because it doesn’t take like carrots at all. The mango and lemon mask it completely.

So get your baked sweet potato fries and roasted carrots going cause this drink only takes a minute to whiz in your Vitamix (or whatever kind of blender you have).

Happy binging tomorrow!

Orange Is The New Paleo MAIN PICTwo more days til our Orange Is The New Paleo party for the return of Orange Is The New Black on Netflix and today we’re roasting some carrots. Who can be bothered with food that requires a fork and knife when you’re trying to pay attention to what’s happening in prison? Not me. Sure, baby carrots dipped in hummus would be fine, but why not spend a couple of extra minutes and treat yourself? (And literally, it’s just a couple of minutes.) By roasting ’em in a little olive oil, salt and pepper your regularly crunchy carrot turns into candy. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself.

They go perfectly with yesterday’s baked sweet potato fries and tomorrow’s mango carrot lemonade. We’re not done making this feast yet!

oven reflection FINALThree more days til the Orange Is The New Paleo party for the return of Orange Is The New Black on Netflix and who doesn’t crave (and honestly, deserve) some french fries on a Friday night? And who among us doesn’t regret them the next morning? Or even ten minutes later…

Enter the baked sweet potato fry that has so much more nutritional value and flavor than the regular french fry. These guys are loaded with fiber and they’re sweet and irresistible! I dipped them into Vegenaise, but if you’re more of a classic ketchup fan, go for it. (I’ve always been a fry-in-mayo girl, but also ketchup’s not Paleo, so I’m leaving it out here.)

Next up: roasted carrots in yogurt dip, mango carrot lemonade, and don’t forget that #OnWednesdaysWeWearOrange.
