Last night we did the unthinkable. Twice.

First: without knowing it, we gave each other the same Chanukkah/Christmas present. A Nike FuelBand!

Then, shit got real: we got on the scale — in front of each other. Weigh and shame.

And while I won’t mention the results, I will share our goals. Before B’s book party — first or second week in May — I want to lose 7 pounds and he wants to lose 35.

Let the countdown begin: T-minus 4 months.

  1. Just saw this post and hope your goals are going well. I am currently doing the Martha Steward Whole Living Cleanse with 4 of my coworkers (two guys and 3 women total). While I wasn’t aiming to lose weight, but rather eat cleanly for 3 weeks, I’ve already lost about 6 pounds as I near end of week 2. The food has been fabulous, I haven’t been hungry and while I really want a slice of toast with butter, the cleanse has been manageable. I work late and having a meal I can cook quickly is important. As long as I’ve done my grocery shopping in advanced and prepped a few things on the weekend, the meals have been simple to cook in about 30 minutes.
