my Mashable story: the healing power of food and the Internet

article screengrabAbout two weeks ago I wrote about my new friend Margaret who, like me, has rheumatoid arthritis. I shared her non-dairy success story, and in that post I said, “but dairy isn’t the only small miracle here; it’s the power of the Internet to connect us to people just like us.”

An editor at Mashable found this to be thought-provoking and asked me to expand on it for an article on their site.

I’d love to hear what you think after you’ve had a chance to read it.

More recipes coming soon! xx

  1. I am so incredibly lucky to be able to eat what I’d like for the most part but this story (and I’ve read it in a few forms) still brings tears to my eyes. I have really enjoyed reading your journey and your recipes. As someone who has also been in awe of the community I’ve made on Twitter and then to watch some of those relationships play out in real life, I too appreciate that incredible power. Keep cooking, keep healing, keep writing for us.
